Details of ‘X-Men: First Class’ Trailer Surface

With only five months away from the release of “X-Men: First Class”, everyone is looking forward to the first trailer. While it has not come out yet, a source who claims to have watched the trailer describes it to The Daily BLAM!.

The trailer is said to open with the 20th Century Fox logo “which pans up as the two spotlight beams cross and form a white ‘X’ on the left of the screen. A white circle goes around the ‘X’ forming the X-Men logo, as Magneto’s helmet comes up on the right.”

Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen, who portrayed Professor X and Magneto in “X-Men” trilogy, reportedly voice over the opening lines about destiny and which side will you stand for while their scenes in previous “X-Men” movies are featured. The video then jumps to see young Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr meeting for the first time, followed by a different angle of the scene from the opening of X-Men in the concentration camp.

The next scene shows the outside part of an old castle-style building that resembles the X-mansion. James McAvoy’s Xavier and Michael Fassbender’s Erik are seen walking through the halls. The words “One wanted peace” are flashed by Xavier. Erik is later seen “yelling dramatically as metal tables in the room begin to float around him. Xavier and Erik shake hands with a tall man in a lab coat introduced as Dr. McCoy.”

The words “The other was too far gone” flash as Erik, who seems to be upset, storms through a hallway killing guards as he passes them. The scene is then cut to show what appears to be “a red Nightcrawler with swords taking out a room full of people; the close up reveals Azazel’s face.”

“The Hellfire Club stand next to Xavier on a bed as Emma goes into diamond form. Oliver Platt and Kevin Bacon were next to Emma in black aristocratic clothes… Mystigue on a bed with her skin turning black; Beast is shown transforming, with his feet growing and toes webbing and fur growing.”

Havok unleashes a red beam of energy from his chest (Havok’s powers in comics are unleashing blue energy). “It then shows Beast all blue and furry in the pilot seat of a crashing jet, followed by several rockets flying towards an island.”

Xavier’s head is later seen beginning to go bald as he mentally pulls a large ship that was sinking out of the water, as well as some smaller boats around it. The trailer is back to the scene when Xavier, still having hair, telling Erik he only wanted peace for him, and he replies there was never a chance for anyone to have that.

The final scene shows Erik picking up a black helmet, wearing a black and red suit and the helmet. “X-Men: First Class” logo appears again towards the end of the video, followed by the movie’s release date.

“X-Men: First Class” is directed by Matthew Vaughn and due June 3. 20th Century Fox has not given any official sneak peek to the action sci-fi flick yet.

Anne Hathaway & James McAvoy Possibilities For “Pride & Prejudice & Zombies”?

For the past few years comic book based movies have taken over the box office putting many more in development. Now with the success of AMC’s comic book based smash hit zombie show The Walking Dead, is it really a shock that another zombie related book is gearing towards a big screen feature?

A movie that at first had a little trouble getting of the ground is Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is Seth Grahame-Smith’s retelling of Jane Austen’s 1813 classic Pride & Prejudice with…well you know…Zombies.

Director Mike White (School Of Rock) is set to helm the film, replacing original director David O. Russell. Natalie Portman was originally set to produce and star in the project but there is no word on her current status with the project.

Pajiba is now reporting that Anne Hathaway may be a top choice for the role of Elizabeth Bennett. The report also states that James McAvoy, an actor that is familiar with role in comic book based movies having starring roles in Wanted and the upcoming X-Men: First Class, is the top contender for the role of Darcy.

Here is a plot summary courtesy of shvoong:

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a prolonged edition of the adored Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie chaos. As the story unlocks, a weird disease has fallen upon the silent English village of Meryton and the dead are being raised to life. Spirited heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to swab out the zombie nuisance, but she’s soon sidetracked by the arrival of the proud and supercilious Mr. Darcy. What results is a wonderful comedy of etiquettes with plenty of cultured sparring between the two juvenile lovers and even more violent hurly-burly on the blood-soaked battleground as Elizabeth launches fierce war against multitudes of flesh-eating zombies. Will she crush the offspring of Satan and overcome the common unfairness of the class-conscious grounded gentry? Filled entirely with romantic saga, catastrophe, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of putrid carcasses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies converts a masterwork of world literature into something you would really desire to read.

‘Arthur Christmas’ Teaser Trailer

Aardman Animation is moving into 3D CGI holiday fare with Arthur Christmas, which stars James McAvoy as the title character in a story “which at last reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: ‘So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?’ The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole.”

The teaser opens with a pretty great piss-take on Morgan Freeman and March of the Penguins, and then it moves into cute holiday film territory. Difficult to tell at this point whether the entire concoction will work, but I like this teaser quite a bit. And the sleigh-as-Close Encounters-style flying saucer is pretty good, too. Level of intrigue: rising.

Arthur LOVES everything to do with Christmas; indeed, he is the only one in his family still captivated by the magic of the holiday. Laurie will play Arthur’s older brother Steve, heir to the reins, a cool, incredibly capable guy who has given the North Pole high-tech efficiency, military-style precision. Broadbent plays Santa, who pictures himself as the guy in charge at the North Pole, but is now more of a figurehead as the operation has outgrown him. Nighy plays Santa’s 136-year-old father, Grandsanta, a cranky old codger who hates the modern world, is always grumbling that Christmas ‘was better when I was Santa’ and has a tense relationship with Steve, who he calls ‘A postman with a spaceship.’ Jensen will play Bryony, a lowly elf from the Giftwrap Battalion, with an eager-to-please attitude and an obsession with wrapping and bows. Imelda Staunton rounds out the cast as Mrs. Santa, dedicated wife and mother to her husband and sons.
