Myriad Pictures has closed sales in most international territories for “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him and Her,” starring Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy.
The deals for the two-part film, which explores the relationship from the separate points of view of a couple working through a rough patch in their relationship, were closed following screenings at the American Film Market.
William Hurt, Ciaran Hands, Bill Hader, Jess Wexler and Viola Davis also star. Ned Benson directed both films from his own script.
“Eleanor Rigby” was first unveiled at Berlin last year with Chastain and Joel Edgerton signed on to star. McAvoy replaced Edgerton last year.
Myriad closed new deals with Prokino for Germany and Austria, Imagine for Benelux, Ster-Kinekor for South Africa, Praesens for Switzerland, Seven Films for Greece, Discovery for former Yugoslavia, HGC for China, and Mono Generation for Thailand. Myriad is also fielding offers for Japan, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
The Weinstein Co. acquired all North American rights, the UK and France at Toronto. TWC is planning a theatrical release in the US for 2014.
Previous deals for “Rigby” include Wanda Vision for Spain, Koch Media for Italy, Swen for Latin America, and Transmission for Australia.
